Description: Here is an Italian Chess Set. Unusual Figure. The Knight being a Centaur (Half Man-Half Beast) The Bishop being in the form of the God Mercury. The Board Solid Wood measuring 42 cm Square with lead lining between the individual squares. The King measures 12 cm in height, the Queen just under--the other figures are nearly there and the Pawns measure 8 cm. It is cast in metal and therefore as a Complete entity weights about 9 kgs. It is a wonderful item. Check Mate anyone?? More Photographs can be sent on request. This is one for the Chess Connoisseur surely!
