An 1876 Symphonion. with 9 Discs

An 1876 Symphonion. with 9 Discs
Description: This is an Early (1876) Symphonion, made in Leipzig, Germany---It Plays Discs that are 19 inches and 5/8ths. There are 9 with it, playing Hymns, and Songs of that Era. It sounds nice and it can either be operated manually by the Metal knob on the side by the Winding Handle, which if pulled out and then immediately pushed in, it will play One complete round of the Disc. On the other hand it also works by a 'Penny in the Slot' (Old Victorian Bun Pennies)
. It it obvious that the Handle needs Winding to ensure enough tension in the spring to play. Usually I rotate the handle about 6/8 revolutions---being careful not to overwind! When I bought it certain Restoration was needed and has been completed (April 2022)
It is a lovely entertaining item. Delivery, will be by a Careful Courier, that I can recommend! This measures 99cm in height without the Pediment 37 cm in depth and 65 cm in width. The Restoration has been completed by a Professional Restorer of such items as there are not that many who have the 'know how'.

At any time anyone purchasing any item can ask for additional photos of the item they seek to purchase.
